So I have been chasing a small, slow, oil leak that drips at the rear drain holes / drain cover in my A300. At first I thought it was coming from the hydraulics under the cab but now I think it may be coming from the drain cover that covers the drains for the fuel tank and chain case. Older models did not have a chain case drain like this.
Has anybody ever had the chain case leak from this point? I didn't even know it existed until I started looking closely at the frame schematics. All it is a rubber bushing with a steel plug similar to the diesel tank. Not easy to access without jacking up the back of the machine quite a bit.
I've always pumped out the fluid from the chain case from the front steel plug. Anybody ever try to drain the chain case from the chain case drain?
I'm thinking that I may have to replace the rubber bushing but I'm not sure I can get it out since the fuel tank is blocking it.
