I tried out a used 753 with 4000 hours on it this past weekend. I noticed how smooth and quiet the chain box was compared to my 743. Is it normal to hear chain and gear noise from the 743. Another thing I noticed was when I pulled back the throttle on the 753, it idled at much higher RPM's. Is that suppose to be like that. Thanks

My 753 did the same, the idle seemed higher not sure why but i believe its normal. Mine was set as per the kubota manual but it is a V1702, the 753 runs a V2203 which may have a higher idle.
Chain noise could have been the chains going over the guides, the 753 doesnn't have guides like the 743's do. As the chains wear they naturally get longer and touch the guides more than when they were new. I wouldn't be to worried about it.
