Cat 259d final drive spewing hydro. Fluid

Okay, guys me again, cat 259D, one of my final drives started spewing hydraulic fluid yesterday & completely drained the system and I am stranded.... Got track out of the way, got everything all cleaned up so I can see everything, put fluid and started it up. It's coming from the backside of the final drive, not a line/ fitting... if I was to pull the final drive myself, whats the chances this is something simple like an O ring Or am I completely screwed & I need a final drive... just your thoughts as I understand you can't repair it online.... or just call Cat field service.

I am not a mechanic however my hands get greasy all the time…….it is not hard to take the final drive off….the final drive are driven by a hydraulic motor…..probably a bad seal somewhere……

Thanks for the reply, I feel I am more than capable of taking the final drive off. Anything that I really need to be aware of before I start the removal? early next week.. I already have the track removed... i am new to this Tracked Skid Steer world
