case tr270 no start only clicks

I realized I never came back to update. after making a temporary switch to start the machine we finally found the actual problem. A rubbed through wire on the hinge point by the a pillar. Hopefully this may help someone in the future.

I have a tr270 as well . Similar issue but when I press the power button dash lights up but nothing actually happens . Usually the fuel pump would kick in . The start button lights up but soon as you press it nothing . . It did have a relay issue and I've replaced all the relays in the left foot well compartment . All connectors undone and checked but still nothing .

Have you checked the battery’s cold cranking amps (CCA)? Batteries can be charged and have good voltage but not enough power to turn over the engine.

It was starting fine .when you press the power button nothing happens . It should start the fuel pump and iluminate the start button . . I have noticed the pattern change switch both lights are on . Usually its just 1 side

I had a car that was not turning over. You could jump it and it would start. Put a new battery and it was good for a week or so. Replaced alternator and charged battery, good for a short time. Replaced ignition switch and no difference. Then one hot afternoon I held the key to the start position and after a couple seconds it started! Took starter off and the bendix was sticking due to dry grease. Took it apart, cleaned and greased. That was the problem all along. It wasn't pulling far enough to engage the contacts without the extra voltage. Never had a problem after that. Had 170,000 miles. Just something to try. Hold key to start position a few seconds. take starter off and check it's operation on the ground.

It's not the starter or battery or connections .
