my new holland l553 is rated for around 1500 lb of lift.Would any one know if i added 400 lb of of weight to the back.How much difference it would make in the amount it will lift??
It depends on where the weight is added or placed---behind the wheels versus behind the radiator. Your're dealing with leverage measured from the front wheels. That said, you're taking weight off the front wheels and putting it on the rear wheels which will make it harder to dig with the bucket or do grading. Ultimately, you're limited by the hydraulics as to how much you can lift ---weights or no weights.
