Anyone have some good pictures of what the typical bobcat mount looks like? I am just wondering if it would even be possible to build a mounting adapter for my older mustang so i could borrow and or rent standard bobcat stuff.

The bobcat plate is available from several sources and can usually be adapted to fit most any of the older type mounts. There are some available that may even bolt on.
Here's a couple plates for you to give you an idea. There are threads here with the drawings and dimensions for these plates and there may be pictures in the media section.

How wide is that standard mount? Did / do even the little baby 36(ish) wide bobcats use that ?

The 300 and 400 series bobcat use a minature mount, not familar with it buyt know its smaller.
The standard skidsteer mount is about 45" wide.
We have blank quick attaches available if you want to convert your loader or build an adapter from your quick attach to the standard one. We also have attachments plates for building attachments or converting existing ones.
