Bobcat T200 keypad failure

I have a 2001 Bobcat T200. The keypad went dead. The screen will not light up. I purchased a keypad instead and now getting a 3404 code. From my research i need to do the down grade procedure on the keypad controller but it's completely dead. Any advice before I take it to the dealer?

So you had an RH display but instead of replacing it, you bought a Ignition switch with key? Do I have that right?
If that is the case, you have to bring it to a dealer that they can downgrade the software. That is so because otherwise everyone could steal these machines.
It is dead because it will not correspond to the controller right now out of safety reasons. They did not tell you that when you purchased the panel?? Where are you located?

My keypad went bad. I had to take it to the dealer to get the new one programmed, so I just bought it from them and had them do it. I'm kinda glad they can't break through thse so they can steal them.

A New Keypad does not need to be programmed, that is plug and play.

Ok, I was told different by two sources, a former Bobcat dealer mech and my dealer. I sent the bad keypad in to that place on ebay to get a quote for repair, and it was like $100 under new. So I just took it to the dealer because I had to get it back running.

I am referring to the keyless entry pad. I use my personal codes so my machine can't be used by just anyone. I don't know if you were referring to a different keypad

Correct, numeric key pad with your personal code and a little lcd display. If you swap it to the SAME panel you don't need it to be programmed. Only if you swap such display to one used with a key, you need to hook up a computer and bobcat software to "down grade" it. Just a safety measure that your machine can't be stolen just by swapping to a key switch.

Ok, I wasn't doubting you, just telling you what I was told. I specifically remember asking if I could replace the keypad for a new keypad myself, and was told no that it had to be programmed. I ended up having to have a flatbed tow truck deliver it to the dealer because I couldn't get it on my trailer. I never doubted it because as I said a mechanic that formerly worked for the same dealer but different location said the same. Now that I moved and the unit is just for farm use, hopefully this one will last forever.
I do all the work I can myself. My only limit is knowledge and experience of certain tasks at hand. I have a very well equipped shop. Any certain members with experience with this machine here willing to answer questions should the need arise? Thanks

No worries, I just hate when Dealer mislead Customers or don't know what they are doing.
