Bobcat s300 fuel signal high

Hello! I'm new to the forum. Just got a bobcat s300 used. Had it to the dealer they did all services and rebuild steering system to the tune of 5k... Anyway now it's showing me a fuel icon and saying "fuel level out of range high" click on the info and it says "fuel level Signal wire (#3100) voltage is greater than 11 volts" then gives me a list of probable cause. My question is. Do I need to bring it back in or just keep working until I get a rain day to scope it out more? Am I in for a bunch of $$$ again? It has 2444hr on it and runs well. Thanks a million! Sounds like your fuel gauge/level sender is shorted to power. As long as it does not arc out against something, I don't see this as being harmful to keep operating it. Just keep an eye on your fuel, as your fuel gauge reading is likely inaccurate.

Thanks, Any idea where I can locate that wire to check if it's shorted? Also do you know where or how to replace the sensor? Is it a big deal? Thanks again!

The sender is under the engine, sadly not easy to access. If you lift the cab and look under the engine, the fuel tank is under there, look to the right for the sender.

So it seems that if I keep the fuel above 1/2 tank it won't show the warning sign. Still a bad sender? If so anyone know the part number and where I could get it? Is it a pain to replace? Thanks a ton everyone!

I believe that you will likely need to pull the engine/pump group to get to the sender. I have heard that this is not as bad of a job as it would initially seem, but personally, I would wait until I had a better reason to pull the engine/pumps.
