How does one turn the auxiliary on so they stay on, for like a snowblower or backhoe where the hydraulics run without holding a switch or lever? Going to look at a wood splitter today thats operated outside the cab. Machine is a 873 F series. Non boss, analog gauges. Has a thumb switch on the right stick for the Aux. Green button on the right panel turns them on. Thanks guys.

I'm not sure on an F series, but on my C series you push the Aux. Hydraulics button once for intermittent operation, and push it again for constant. Mine has a light with a lock symbol that comes on. Then the trigger on the right control stick toggles it on & off.

That worked, However I dont think the valve is opening on the return circuit. Woodsplitter works good when holding the thumbswitch one way or the other. When in constant flow the auxilaries feel like there on but the splitter's cylinder barely moves and the bobcat is laboring. Any ideas? Holding the thumbswitch one direction or the other the splitter works fine.

How is the splitter run? you enable the aux hydraulics, jump out of the cab and use a control on the splitter?
The trigger should do the exact same thing the thumb switch does, but as long as it's flowing in the correct direction, have you tried switching the couplers over and see if the problem goes away?

Glad you got it working.
It actually does matter how the lines are connected. The control block has dedicated ports, one is in, one is out, if the flow is reversed functions will not work or work oddly. Worst case, you can actually blow seals.
