I have and early 863c. The right side pintle seal is leaking. fluid leaking pretty steady Is there a lot involved in changing the seals ? what type of seals go into this model/ It has the old style cable control lines for steering Thanks

I have never worked on one, but from memory one of the 8 series machines was a little more involved than it could be. Drain the oil tank before you start or else you will have oil everywhere.
Remove the piltle arm and remove the plate. Some had a sleeve that went over the pin that the pintle lever bolts to. This sleeve is very delicate, so you need to be careful when replacing it. I think it had an O ring to seal it too.
I don't believe anything with this job is hard to do, you just have to be careful if it has the sleeve.

The fluid would pour out of the pintle removal if not drained? I was hoping it would just dribble a little no need to drain all the fluid . Tazza again thanks for your input

It will come out faster than you may like. Especially if it will take time to install a new seal in the plate that the pintle goes through, it won't take long to make a rather large mess. Or it has in the past when i have worked on machines with the oil tank higher than the pump.
On the other hand, it's good to keep any junk getting into the pump as its moving out, it will flush out anything that tries to get in.
