Bobcat 863 chaincase cover

Hi I’m new to this forum and skidsteers in general. I recently purchased a 1999 bobcat 863 and the previous owner did the rear right axle bearing but the other side is now leaking so I’m in the process of doing that but my question is I went to remove the chaincase cover and remove all 8 bolts but the cover will not budge. I noticed a gasket on it almost like a silicone gasket. Please help how do I remove this cover. I’ve tried prybars etc with no luck please help

Bobcat doesnt use gaskets, or at least not anymore. They recommend using a poly sealer instead. You can purchase the sealer from the dealer, it comes in a caulk tube. Whatever the previous owner used to seal the cover on is anyone's guess. As for a way to remove the cover, well, whatever it takes, no ideas here.

yes gaskets are no longer used its smacked down with a really strong sealent . air hammer wit a chisel bit works good if not sharp screw driver in one corner followed by a chisel. once you get a corner broke go with it. good news they don't leak.

He managed to get it open, tried a pry bar and a BIG hammer but refused to move, eventually he did get it though, it sure didn't want to open up.
