I have a bobcat 863. The bobcat will not stay running. We need to move it, but we can not keep it running long enough to lift the forks in order to load it onto a trailer to take for repair. Can anyone tell me how to lift those forks without the engine running.

Can you just unhook the forks and muscle them out of the way? You'll have to pull (very slowly!) the machine up on the trailer anyhow. Will the machine fire when it first tries to start? There may be some things you could do if that's the case. :) ---Bobbie-G

ii have in the past turned the starter in order to move the arms to do a couple small moves. when you turn the key it turns the pump and all so you can try that. it's not ideal but obviously the machine needs work anyways.

You should be able to have someone sit in it and hold the pedal down and raise the booms with a forklift, shop crane, come-a-long, or floor jack, then release the pedal and it should hold, at least long enough to get onto a trailer.
If it has the electric solenoid controls, there should be a square red emergency release for lowering the boom behind the throttle, it should work for raising as well.
