Is there a preferred vendor or business that is better priced for a replacement motor on a bobcat 773? It is the Kobota 4 cyl diesel. Thanks Mine just went south, rod is bent and cylinder wall is scratched also. I know it is going to be expensive and way too much for bobcat to replace, so I thought that I would see what I can do this for myself to help with the cost.

I would look into a 2203 five more hp and you can get them good used for under 1500 all day long

I am in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. More power is always better, but I really am looking for the most simple , no modifications, plug and play change out. Thanks!
I looked into this for my 743 and just have to swap some parts off my engine and drill two holes yours might not evan need that don't think your going to find anything cheaper or easyer ....,check ebay they have a place by me in Dallas under 1500 with warenty

What do you mean by DI? This stuff is all new to me. I was lucky to get the bobcat used from someone that took advantage. Lol. I guess that's what happens when you don't do your homework and make impulsive Buys. I put about 4 hours in the machine before it went south, so a lot of this termlogy is pretty new to me, buying know that I will be learning ALOT and pretty fast with this machine. Thanks!! I will look on ebay for a seller on the Dallas area. I rather just make a trip out there since it isn't that far vs paying shipping here.

Direct injection it will start easyer

The direct injection engines are nice, a few more HP i believe and start easier when cold.
I have never messed with a reefer engine that antfarmer is talking about, but you should be able to swap over the parts from your donor broken engine.
The change over isn't hard to do, as a lot of people have done it before, and will continue to do so. If you get one off ebay, they generally give details on what you need to do. Send them an email and ask what is involved before you buy an engine off them. It will hopefully make the choice easier for you.

Look on Craigslist! I live near Rockford, Ill. and there's several ads around here for Kubota engines that you can buy for around $1200 or so.
