Hey all, Cant catch a break with this Bobcat! Replaced the temp sensor and knocked a wire off the alternator. It was a hot wire. I tied the wire up because I couldn't see what it went to. The machine seemed to run fine for 4 hours or so but did not restart when I tried (Battery dead). I jump started the battery and it seemed to still do OK. Today I reattached the wire to the alternator where I think it went. I jump started the Bobcat but the voltage read was very low and the bucket was only working on and off so I shut it back down. I assume hydraulics won't work if the voltage is too low, correct? Any ideas on how to diagnose? Anyone have 2 wires coming from the + post on the alternator? Maybe the constant + wire I attached didn't come from there.

if there was a smallish wire that might be the sense wire which helps the alt. kick in a lower rpms the ones I have seen usually have a squarish plug the goes on a spade tip on the back of the alt. if you take that wire and tap against the hot side of the batt while the thing is running you should see the charging system kick in fast and usually stay on.

This is a really good idea, thank you. I think the sensor is a plug on the 763C though, see this attached picture, maybe this wire is supposed to go somewhere else? https://ibb.co/23BP473
