Depends on the use did it sit and idle a lot? We have routinely ran skid steers to 7000+ hours with a couple to 10,000. Best thing is to check for wear and play in the pins and bushings. Our 753 g has 12000 hrs on the machine with a new engine 2000 hrs ago. 5100 hrs is getting up there for what most people think for a skid steer. How many hours are you going to put on it?

very limited hours. just some work around the house. Still curious how this affects value. Trying to decide on what to offer.

Hours do lower the value, just like in cars. The more work it has done, the lower the value.
With that said, you can get a good high hour machine, but you can also get a $hit box. The engines are generally the first to go, they generally start to get lazy at 6,000 hours. You can use the high hours to get a better price, as you can point out the engine is approaching the end of it's life span.

NO..............it depends on how it was maintained. Would you rather buy a car with 35,000 miles on it, or one with 214,000 miles? Oh, I forgot - the one with 35,000 never had the oil changed on it, but the 214,000 mile car was owned by a fguy who owns his own Jiffy lube and he changed the oil every month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hours have little or nothing to do with condition on a diesel, until it gets to 7,000 or so.............IF it was maintained. And when the previous owner says he's a farmer run like the devil, because a farmer's hands do NOT fit around grease gun!!!

I chuckled at the farmers hands not fitting around a grease gun :)
