bobcat 743b bubcket (tilt) slowly dropping

All, Just wondering what I should be checking to correct this problem: the bucket tilt mechanism drops slowly while I am operating the skid-steer ... the heavier the load the faster it drops, Thanks for any info, Roger

Thanks for the info. I have just noticed that both of the lift cylinders on the skid steer are leaking ... one a considerable amount. From reading the info in the file you referred me to, if I am interpreting it correctly, those leaking lift cylinders could affect tilt performance ... regardless, I need to get the lift cylinders fixed and hopefully that will help remedy or at least help isolate the problem, Thanks again and let me know if I'm on the wrong track, Roger

Leaking lift cylinders shouldn't cause your tilt to drop too, but if they are leaking you really need to replace the seals any way. Each section controls only one function, so they are sort of independant. Its only internal leakage that can get to the next segment.
I would start by replacing the seals in the lift and tilt sections first, even try the test procedure. Warm the machine up and operate the tilt and see if it gets warm, if it does, you have internal by-pass of the piston seal.

I have the same problem way too often. you can buy for about 40bucks the seal and packing for the middle ram. changing it can be a challenge for a first time person, but beware hydraulics are under pressure. That's all I am going to say about that right now.
