Ive got an old 610 I bought, and havent used yet. did a bunch of mech. drive work, and trying to finish up to use, though I cant just yet, as the wheels are off and its on jackstands. Some info may be non relative but, its got new sparkplugs, cap, rotor and points were sanded for clean contact, carb was disassembled, and thoroughly cleaned. When purchased the mech fuel pump was dead and guy had a gravity fed snowblower fuel tank, which it seemed to run fine off. I put a new pump on, but still have the plastic tank feeding the pump for now with new inline filter and petcock. Ive just recently got the engine fired for first time since last year. It will run with the petcock in the off position....for quite a bit, the moment you crack it open the slightest bit, it wants to die, I did it many times at diff rpms. I even put the fuel tank on the ground below the machine thinking maybe the gravity feed with the pump was flooding it. I dont understand how turning the fuel on the slightest bit makes the engine want to die?? Just for hahas, im going to feed the carb with gravity feed only to see what happens.
