The year was written in the manual. Given the fuel port clearly states gasoline, have to conclude the manual was not original. Thanks for all the feedback. Pretty sure there will be more questions as I dive into possible ownership.Like Reaperman said: look for Spark Plugs.
An older machine (1992)..might have had a gas engine put in it at some point..do not go off of P.I.N. number.

Also Bobcat shows only 1993 & 1994 years for model 543B, with a Diesel engine . How did you get 1992?
and carburetors543B was diesel. I have a 542B which is gas.
I have seen the wrong numbers put on repainted machines.
Yes, spark plugs and spark plug wirers are for sure only on gas machines.
