hello to you all. i have a bobcat 310 with a kohler engine, i need a con-rod, bigend shells, and possibly a big end. i lent it some one and they over reved it and now the cranks only turning. so it could have thrown the big end or the studs snapped. either way, i have been looking a couple day for kohler engine. but no one seem interested? im wondering if any of you chaps and chapsess can help me. regards sam

Brace yourself, unless you find a running engine in something, this won't be cheap. ERI looks like they offer that engine. I normally get a quote from them and then I check with my local engine shop where I get my heads done. I then go from there based on price and turn around. Good luck.

That has what, like a 10 or 12 hp single cylinder? For the most part small engines are pretty universal. The big thing is to match the crankshaft length and diameter so there isn't too much rigging to get the clutch on. Otherwise a B&S or a honda should fit right in. I do not think they have a special base, some garden tractor engines had special bases to fit the tractor frames.

I have usually referred to this website as a starting point for a repower:
http://www.smallenginewarehouse.com/RepowerItems.asp?Brand=Bobcat&Model=310
They don't make it sound too promising, but then they are trying to fit an engine that makes the machine look stock. If you don't mind modifying your rear door, you could likely shoehorn something in. Check out the repower page on this website for ideas. I am pretty sure that I saw a M371 with a V-twin Kohler repower.
Here is another spot to look for potential candidates:
http://www.carrollstream.com/
They have a 16hp single that may work. And on sale for $374!!
Just curious - is your 310 a hydro or clutch machine?
Good Luck!!

Looks like a 20 hp Honda can be made to fit.
