Never worked on a deere but look on top of the piece that the filter screws to and look for a plug after you put the filter on take the plug out and pump the ball if it has one if not you can put light air pressue in the fuel tank till fuel comes out then put the plug back and try it becarful some water bowls are glass if that does not work might have to loosen the lines to the injectors
