Battery light stays on when key is off

rHello forum. I am new to this site!! All help will be awesome!! I have a 04' Gehl 4640 turbo with 4366 hrs. Runs and drives great. I have owned it for around 10 years. When i park it recently the battery light on dash stays on !! Hour meter runs as well. Battery goes dead pretty quick(few hours). Any thoughts please?

You have a short somewhere.
If it is a keyed ignition, the ignition switch may be bad.

We think its the alternator. Feeding back to hour meter and battery meter! Ordered a new. See if it fixs the problem. Thanks.
