At the recommendation of Bobcat service manager - I'm looking to replace the right hand joystick handle on my 763 C series. It has only the momentary left/right switch that controls the aux hydraulics, and the trigger for the horn/beeper. 5 wires total. Bobcat wants $450 for this handle - part number 6680413. Has anyone ever used a similar handle with more switches/wires - say a 6706568 and simply not used the extra switches and wires? The handles, wire connectors, etc appear the same? Or does anyone have any tips of possibly getting my switch to work? It appears to be potted in resin? Hate to spend $450 for a simple 3 position momentary switch.... I removed the handle assembly to change the main steering arm after it rusted off just below the handle. I was careful with the handle and wires/connector and have triple checked the connections. The switch functions -but will not disengage. When nudged left - it stays stuck left until you manually nudge the switch back right to release it. Same going to the right. Appreciate any help. Thanks

If that's all that is wrong with it, I'd be inclined to try and squirt some contact cleaner in there (can't remember if that has a rubber membrane over the outer portion) and blow it out with air and see if it frees up. If the spring isn't broken, it might start working again.
If the spring is broken and it won't function normally, I'd see if the switch was separate from the rest of the electric package and could be replaced independently, and see if it has any identifying number on it to search online for. Bobcat don't make the switches, they get them from somewhere.

This is a old thread but I thought I would renew it. I have a 751 with the 2 switch right handle and the left/right thumb switch is not returning to center. BC wanted $550 for a new handle so I decided I had nothing to lose so I pulled switch handle apart. I removed the handle from the joystick. Then remove the two screws and separate the 2 halves of the switch handle. One half has a circuit board that is potted in a soft epoxy the other half is empty. Using a drill and screwdriver I was able to dig out the epoxy and break out the circuit board along with the bad switch. I have never use the trigger switch so I just added a new 3 position momentary toggle switch (on-off-on return to center) that cost something like $3 on Amazon. I didn't even have to lengthen the wires. Works great plus the switch lever is taller than the tiny little original which is good because I use the switch for angling a snow plow blade while I'm wearing heavy gloves.

Any handle with a good toggle will work too. I changed mine on the 753 from the original square button handles to the cobra head style. Just keep track of the wires for proper splicing.

Interesting, I have a 763 four switches on it, the front switch locks in the auxiliary hydraulics for my chain digger. The switch started playing up so I ordered one online but the wires were a different colour, so I tested all of them to match what the OEM switch did but to no avail as nothing matched so I returned it for my money back.
I played with the original by increasing spring pressure with mixed results but I'll need to fix it once and for all as at present it's extremely dangerous as the hydraulics can start on their own occasionally.
Genuine here in Oz is out of question as the stealer wants over $1k. 🤦‍♂️ I might once and remove it from the machine (which is a pain) and try and replace the one pot like you did.
