Air cooled k662 Kohler . I down loaded the drawings from Briggs website it is called a 2 lc and looks like it will fit easy. The radiator will have to be remounted behind the seat with a electric fan , make a sleve from 1.125 to 1.500 and mill a key .250 on the shaft .375 on the clutch . will add more when I see the engine in my shop . GearboxI have never done it, as you have all the gear, you should be pretty well set. Was the old one water cooled too? That may be the only issue, air cooled is much easier.

I have repowered a couple of the older small skids but always used air cooled. I did one onan and one kohler. Replaced both with Kohler Vtwins. Change out was straight forward with minimal machine work. For personal preference I would have stuck with air cooled for a gas engine. Pics when its in if possible.Air cooled k662 Kohler . The engine is in Montana and waiting for logistics to get it delivered . went with water cooled cause Im cheeeeep and this was brand new at les than air cooled price used . Well the vanguard is in and wired , the hyd arn't hooked up yet . The radiator mounting has turned out to be the biggest headack so far . the ammeter is wired backwards I may leave it that way so I can tell the borrowers it isn't charging . will post an update when it's up and operating . Radator is in , air cleaner had to be moved up to loader frame it moved under its own power today . this weekend should get a wheel seals in then it will quit dripping on my shop floor . then onto hydrolic pump drive . Well a little set back . Went to hook up the pump and the motor sat 3/4 inch to high so will pull the motor and build a new and beter mount . I drove it around and the power turning is great . at half throtle it turns on a dime no booging . Some where there is a post floating around in cyberspace . So here goes again . Well it is nearing done I had it in the dirt pile and it works like a champ . I didn't run it too long as I had a bad leak in a tilt cylinder . Today I got a kit and streightened the bent rod { wrong kit 2 aviable and I picked the wrong rod size ] . Still have to remount the presure reducing block for vari speed . I think I need to go to church tomorrow as things ahven't been working out { no 1/4 in steel anywhere in the shop ] so monday to the steel suplier and back to Bobcat for the other kit . Glad you have good power while pushing into dirt, that is the big test. You use far more HP digging than simply lifting the bucket.
There will always be other little things to do. Well one last post to give an update . I put a new set of clutch disks in 90 bucks at bobcat now it steers great . Have used it alot and it is a work horse . As for the fuel use, could the engine be running ritch?
I had a 731 tha ran a diesel Deutz, it used next to no fuel, then i got a newer machine that used a fair bit more. I guess it's the price you pay for it doing a lot of the hard work.Not runing rich just runs good so I use it alot . I guess a 27 HP lawn mower will use alot too when working Gearbox
