If it was me, i'd e-mail or call to check on freight just to be sure you don't get stung when you don't expect it.

Tazza, the shipping was average. I told the guy his price was the best I'd found so far, he said, 'I know'. He seemed to know his prices were lower than most?.

Well its nice to see he isn't in the business of ripping people off! If you keep your prices fair people will come back and tell their freinds.

Tazza, On your parts, Is the customs handled by one of the major freight forwarders?. The reason I ask is, I'm a license customs broker. I don't broker anymore, took early retirement but couldn't stay retired. Got into the skidsteer business by accident and really like it.

Most of the parts i bring in are under the $1,000 threshold so i don't need to worry about customs entries. I do however have some coming in Thursday that is over the limit, but its being consolidated with other goods and the freight forwarder we use for work is handling it all. I have to pay $600 in taxes and duty. I have found the best way is to keep it under the $1,000 AUD threshold then i don't need to worry about the customs side.
I know i can do my own paperwork, but i like to keep things as simple as possible, then i have no worries about if its done rite or not :)
All i know is filling out an SLI to get the goods of of the USA was a nightmare!!!! They wanted schedule B numbers that took over an hour on the phone... typical government departments. The biggest problem was there was nothing i could do, it was all up to the shipper, who i think i drove crazy with all the stuff that was required. But it all worked out in the end thankfully!
