I'm getting a bit bored this winter and looking for a project. Thinking about adding a cab heater to my 753G. I saw a youtube video that looks simple, yet effective. Watch the 2 minute video and give me opinions on whether this rather simple add-on would work efficiently. My only reservation is the heat exchanger could air lock since it would be mounted higher than the radiator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGvJHw3hef8

It has a good idea. It's just going to be pretty hard to de-escape air, but then I do not believe it will making a plug. Just these radiators are pretty expensive. I have heated at least 4-5 machines, I use a heat radiator and a fan from wv golf 2, fold a tin box and mount it in its original location. It works pretty well, but it takes time to clear the glasses.

I was thinking of using a tranny cooler with a built in fan already assembled. They basically look the same as the one in the video. There is a ton of them available on the internet that are pretty inexpensive, $50 to $$. Alot of them have 1/2" hose ends which would be perfect. I dont know why a tranny cooler would have sizing that large. Since my machine has no ducting mounting in the engine compartment would be difficult. And the ceiling seems to be a ideal spot since there isnt any available space inside the cab. I need to investigate the airlock thing more.

I just finished installing factory glass on my Bobcat S150 and would also like to add heat although I might wait till fall of this year. I was thinking about buying an integrated unit, maybe something like this https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/70611/10002/-1?mrkgcl=1239&mrkgadid=3328184483&adpos=1o24&creative=330726016700&device=m&matchtype=&network=s&jegspromo=nonbrand&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyMjtsOnV4AIVi4bACh1G5gWYEAQYGCABEgJSM_D_BwE I was thinking about mounting it on the shelf right behind my head. One concern I have with some installations I see on YouTube is that if they break a hose they are going to get drenched in hot antifreeze. Seems like those hoses need to be shielded.

That looks a lot like this heater with a different name and price. https://www.my12voltstore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=H-400012&gclid=CjwKCAiAnsnjBRB6EiwATkM1XkfD7tMd5ROFUIMQdvSpXowvhFgXyPH70N-Z4w-J6L_OtU4-DAoPshoClgMQAvD_BwE I know what your talking about the possibility of getting a hot coolant shower. But when is the last time you actually saw a quality heater hose blow? To be on the safe side they should probably be changed every few years. I havent decided what kind of heater to to end up getting. However, I do like the ceiling option since there isnt much extra room anywhere in the cab. I will most likely wait until summer/fall to do the project.

Тhese heaters are nice, the nose for mounting on the floor. There is no place on the floor. When the warm air blows directly into your head, you are sweating. At the same time your feet freeze / they are low down and the heat runs upwards /. I know a lot of people who have mounted such heaters in their skidsteers and constantly complaining that they are getting sick. That's why I use cell and fan from wv golf 2 / they are cheap/ . I make a box of sheet metal and fit it between the seat and the left window, the cabin frame. There are holes for the hoses in the chassis frame / they are installed by the factory / Take the heat forward from the vacuum cleaner hose. Behind the seat, there is one hose to pass on the right side of the cabin frame along the right window. Yes, it's harder, it's not so beautiful, it's almost the same price (in all cases under $ 200 if you do it yourself). much better and most important - you can direct the hose to your feet. These are my considerations. I'll try to upload pictures, tomorrow I'll make a heater on a machine.

Walio, as for running the heater hoses. Are there any other connections that need to be made other than simply attaching one hose to each nipple of the heater bypass?

Usually I put a 3/8 three-way valve in the engine compartment and set it so that in one position fluid run to the heater and the other will make a bypass between the two hoses. This allows you to stop heat fluid run tru cell so as not to heat you during the hot summer days. Sorry for my bad english language.

I thought about a valve in the hoses. It would also allow restricting the flow to the heater core and to some degree control the amount of heat generated. Not sure how effective it would be but that was what I was thinking. Pics of your install would be great. As for the English, not worries there. We appreciate your input.

Today I installed the heater. Sorry, I do not have photos. The customer does not agree to photograph his machine. I can draw you a schematic and send it by email or try to upload it here but I have several unsuccessful attempts already, I can not handle uploading photos here. From the three-way valve will be difficult to regulate the flow, there will have to be another valve up to the heater in the cabin, it is preferable ball type / they are smallest than oders/
