The fluids are full, the fan turns so the belt seems tight enough. Anything else I should check? I have a chance to buy this machine for $3000. The guy said he was just using it and it just stopped no movement and no lift and tilt. The engine runs great. thanks

Sounds like the lift/tilt solenoid is bad. Its attached to the side of the control block. If its a BICS bachine, look for lights on the box. Seat and seat bar lights should come on, then it will un-lock the brake and hydraulics. If a sender is bad, it will not unlock. You will have ot move it by pressing the traction lock overide button to move, but they hydraulics will not come on.
If thats all it is, its a bargain.

Can't go too far wrong for 3k

The guy just told me that when you push the press to operate button it kills the engine. This is a BICS machine, any ideas. Thanks for all the help.
Aux hydraulics in detent? Move right hand steering lever to the left and try button again.

Check the fuses for a corrosion. Sometimes when the fusus corrode internally they will allow power to flow but stop when the load is too great (eg:calling for the BICS functions). Then when the load is removed it will allow power to flow again. May sound crazy but I have seen it several times on different bobcats.

This machine has a elect over hyd valve for the aux, so its not the steering lever. not to say the aux hyd can't be stuck on another way, but you should still have drive to the wheels. To the wheels move forward and back a bit or nothing at all? If they are just held buy the park pin the machine will move a inch or two before the park brake/pin holds it.
Try removing the parking brake solinoid (top center of chain case below the front of the operators seat, you must lift the cab to get to it) and disabling the parking prake by pulling the rod up and using a hase clamp to hold it up.
Is the engine stalling from the load because it can't turn the wheels, or is the rack puller solinoid (on the injection pump) releasing and shutting the engine down?

Update!! The machine will now stay running when the push to operate button is pushed. What the the machine is doing now is when you push the levers forward or backwards it makes a growling sound. He says that it is acting like a load is being put on the machine when he pushes the levers but it wont move. The bobcat on on my fathers farm way out in the boonies and he dont have a computer so he has been calling me for help. Today he is going to get with me on the phone and be at the machine so I can ask him questions and he can tell me whats going on. Thank you guys for all the help!!!!!!!! Ill prolly have more questions sometime today. Thanks again Gene

If it will move just a bit inch, or two then there is likely a problem with the bics system that won't allow the parking brake to unlock, so the wheels won't move (more then a inch or so) and the bics valve won't unlock therefore no loader functions.
Often the problem is cause by a bad seat bar sensor (at the pivot point on the seat bar) but can also be caused buy wiring or fuse problem.
When all the bics stuff works corectly it sends power to the parking brake coil and to the bics valve that unlock these to let the wheels and loader function.
As I said b4 you can remove the park brake and it should drive the wheels, and if you find the bics coils (has 2 wires and was on a aluminum square block on my 553, not certain on this 763) putting power to one and ground to the other wire will power up the coil and unlock the valve.

I know this probably isnt it, but my 632 acted just the way you describe when the bronze filter plugged up. And it was the same, using it one second, stopped the next suddenness as well. Changed the filter, and away I went.

Well after a few months I was able fix this machine. I took everyones input and checked the machine over, I checked the bics which was unplugged and I got it plugged in and all lights lit up. But stll wouldnt move. So checked the solenoids, aux worked but couldnt hear the main control valve one. So replaced it. And still nothing. So started cracking lines to see if I could get oil out----nothing. Oil in tank was full. So i figued I would change the oil it seemd foamy and watered down. Started to drain the tank with the little line coming from tank to control valve and very little oil drained. Strange! so used a wire to clear the fitting and oil drained good. So now for the main rubber hose coming from tank to pump. Nothing would drain. Here is the kicker There was a rag in the tank blocking the rubber hose to the pump. I was shocked!!!!! Still shocked.( Previous owner must have upset someone.)But I was able to fill up the machine with hydro oil and she runs great!!!!! Prolly didnt need the main solenoid but it got one anyways. Thanks for everyones help on this. You guys are great!!!!!! Ps. Make sure nothing is in the tank that shouldnt be there.

Wow, that's not something you hear about every day. I think you are onto something, he must have really bugged someone. Such a simple thing to cause so many issues, something to remember if i need to be horrible to someone :)
Good to hear you have it all fixed!

When troubleshooting Bobcats, remember what Sherlock Holmes said: "Eliminate the impossible. Whatever remains, however improbable, is the solution."
