89 L555 seat belt

Been having trouble with the seat belt not working and then working. This morning I used a mirror to see the safty lights on the control box. Everything seems to be allright. Started it and engaged the boom lift. It went up about 6" then stopped. Checked the lights and seat was out. Wiggled the belt buckle and it came back on. Seems that it is breaking contact as I move around in the seat. Took it off but can't see anyway to get it apart to see what is wrong. Used a tester on it and it will make and break contact as you wiggle it around. Priced a new one and am still sitting down. It will cost me an arm and part of a leg. Anyone have a cheaper source? I got a seat switch from Grasshopper but don't think they use this type of belt. Thanks for your help. Ron

Have you tried squirting contact cleaner into the female end? Even a blast of air may dislodge crud and dirt.

Thanks jerry for your answer. Yes I squirted it after blowing it out and nothing helped. So I broke the plastic push pin off and took it apart. The spring clip switch had broken and not fixable. In order to use the machine when we need it I cut the wires with the plug and put a push switch on it. Plugged it in and we had a perfect start and boom operation. I know you never bypass the safety stuff but you gotta do it in a pinch. I did find a new belt that should work and will be here Wednesday. $65 as most were $120 and up. Thanks again. Ron
