Hey guys wondering if you could check out the pic and let me know what this is? It is connected to the engine somewhere up front and runs to the back and is resting on the floor. Looks like a solid conductor for something? not sure.. thanks

If the pic doesn't show up its in photos under 863c, its a little difficult to get photos on here...

are you sure its not the oil drain, the end has been cut off and plugged
Sorry I should have posted a reply a little while ago..... Yes It is a line that was plugged with a stub of copper rod.... I removed the wrap on the outside and pulled it out, a bit of diesel came out so I guess it must be connected to the fuel tank??? It runs behind the engine and I can't see where it goes from either side, must be connected to the fuel tank

What model of 863? On my 863G, there are two diesel lines. One is the supply line which originates in front of the engine and runs back to the primer bulb then the fuel filter and pump. The other is a return line from all the injectors, which runs past or under the engine then back to the fuel tank near where the pickup line originates. I would hazard a guess that you're looking at the return line which came loose from the fuel tank elbow and was just plugged. :) ---Bobbie-G

Hey thanks for the info..... it's a "C" series..... I'll definitely look into that, would I be able to feel around from the back to reach this elbow that it should be connected to? Thanks craig

I have a G; not sure how much difference. You should be able to start by following the diesel return line from the upper left of the engine. Should be very visible from the rear. Might have to pop up the cage to see all you need to see in front of the engine. I think on mine I could access the fuel pickup line at the tank from near the right rear tire, but I may have had the lift arms up. If you're new to Bobcats, make sure you use the lift arm support which should be on the right lift arm cylinder. It'll ruin your day if the arms come down on you. The cage can be popped up by removing the two 3/4" nuts at the lower front of the cage, one on each side. The front edge of the cage should then pull up. :)

Well I checked it out and not sure what it's for.... The hose connected to the elbow on the fuel tank is plugged with nothing for it to be attached to (the hose in picture) The fuel appears to be fed from the left(viewed from back) side of the tank and the return line that comes off of the rail on the top left of engine is going down to the top of the tank. It's like this is an extra line not sure where it is supposed to go to.
