853H BICS...BOSS...PITA....ARG at a point where I could remove it...what's involved?

As the title states, I am at point in my machine restoration where I could remove the BOSS/BICS and go with ??
The machine is new to me and I have got the engine and drives working great, I still have no hydraulics, as after pouring over the older version schematics, have figured out I am missing a major harness for the AUX hydraulics, which also seems to have the power to the lock solenoids in it. The machine had started to be stripped for parts, so already missing are the intrument panels, both sides, this AUX harness, most of the seat/bar sensors are buggared and I am dealing with a cab wiring harness that has been hacked off right at the key panel...
Yesterday I figured out the wires in the cab to get it started and the alternator charging again, I have old school gauges and key panel coming from an 843 and will wire those in...but to get the hydraulics working....I am now thinking to remove the BOSS system. The BOSS box is still under the cab, and it's main harness is there, and engine harness and harness out the boom arm to bucket area is there...but I am missing one harness with an 8 pin square plug from the engine harness, and one harness from under the cab by the big circular connector, 6 pin I think, and also there is a controller missing, has 2 plugs, something to do with AUX hydraulics on the sticks???
Anyway, my goal is to get the hydraulics working with the least amount of PITA in the future. I will need at least the main AUX hyrdaulics working as I have an auger and may be looking at a landscape rake.
I am an electronics guy as well as mechanic so wiring is not a problem...just want to know the best way to acheive my goals. Would appreciate some input from anyone who has replaced/removed BOSS, and what did you have to do to keep all hydraulics working. I don't much care about all the safety shutoff crap for the engine etc. My old 720 doesn't have a computer to tell me something is wrong, I can hear it, or the machine will tell me thru noises or feel. I will have temp and oil pressure gauge, can put in a light for hydraulic charge pressure, and whatever else is critical.
Your thoughts?

IT HAS TO BE STATED. wirining around factory installed safety systems aint a good idea .people a lot smarter than me and you. designed these sys. FOR A REASON. when youre granddaughter has to tell mommy, that pawpaw is under the bobcat in the barn. and insurance wont pay cause he did to his own godamm self. who answers to that

Yank the BOSS, it garbage. Keep BICS, it's technically a pretty simple system. Removing BOSS is a new harness, dash, gauges, a sensor or two. If you have a seat switch, install a press to operate kit which is mainly a new BICS module. Good to go.

Will I still be able to run AUX hydraulics without the BOSS? From what I think I am learning, the BOSS currently PWMs the AUX hydraulics thru my missing PWM black box which mounts near the main hydraulic pressure sensor that is clamped to the right side, standing at the front of the machine. Will I have to replace all the solenoids in the GEM block to 12 volt units? Was told they are 5 volt meant to be driven by the BOSS. I'm going to have to have a serious sit down and study of the hydraulics flow chart and wiring diagrams to get a bettter understanding of the system. I also found enough connectors today to make up a new harness to keep the BOSS system, I just won't have the LCD panel. I bought gauges and key panels from an 843 today, just need to match up the wires and get them working.
BTW, what does GEM stand for?

I also don't need the proportional control on AUX hydraulics that the PWM offered. I may one day, but don't know what attahcments would need variable flow??

They should work, aux is a stand alone function and is the same on nonBOSS units. I don't recall anything having to be done with aux system when converting.

Well I just made a HUGE discovery...I found the correct service manual for my s/n machine and it has a whole mess of stuff that wasn't in the orignal manual I had. It shows all the BOSS connections and the AUX functions and all the solenoids and even explains how the PWM works, which I now find out was not part of BOSS, but like you said, is standard on both types of machines. So I now know until I find one of those PWM boxes and harness, I will not have AUX hydraulics.

2 questions. Is it possible to switch your valve to an earlier valve that doesnt use PWM? Second, if no, I will assume that the PWM cycles a solenoid? Can that solenoid handle 100% duty cycle? Reason I ask is, even if it is a 5 volt solenoid, you can use a resistor block and a relay to open it at 100%. It will be ON/OFF, but you will have auxillary with the trigger control.
