I have been having problems with the hydraulic locking up and then freeing on its own. It usually happens when lowering the arms and tilting the bucket back after dumping. I noticed that if I bounce up and down on the seat it unlocks so I thought maybe I need to adjust the seat sensor. But when it happened last I checked the lights on the bics behind my right arm and the light for the valve (third down) is off and then turns back on and then it works fine again. After replacing the engine a couple of weeks ago we noticed a couple of wires removed from a "thingy" under the seat area. I put them back on to the "thingy" and thought that maybe they just rattled loose but now I suspect that the previous owner removed them to cure the problem I am now having. I will try to put a link to a picture of it. This thing has two wires running to it, and one hydraulic line hooked to it. It is next to a couple of potted electronic components that are secured to the inside left wall of the skidsteer. Anyone out there know what this thing is? I have looked through the manual and cannot identify it. Is this the root of my problem? http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo33/lortan/Kronos/IMG_1342_zpsa052fe83.jpg

Not exactly sure what that is, it's not a seat sensor as those should have 3 wires....
Possibly not factory, being held in place wth a hose clamp and all :)

It is factory - I found a pic of it in the manual for the machine. Unfortunately, I unhooked one of the wires and tested it and it didn't make any difference. I still think it has something to do with the seat sensor. Is there any way to adjust this thing?

Need some more info. What manual and page number, first 7 digits of the machine serial number and what color are the wires attached to it? Maybe a better picture would help too.

Looks like the transmission charge pressure sender If the hydraulic line goes to the top of the hydraulic pumps thats what it is. As far as I know , the sender trips an indicator light or creates a boss code depending on the model, when the sender senses to little oil pressure. I would look towards the mag switch on the seat bar or something on the control valve outlet.

The picture in the manual is located on page 2-28 B. The photo shows the item in question but the picture and description is for the hydraulic control valve. my ser # is 512817785.

I found the picture in the service manual.

The potted electronics box is the PWM auxiliary controller. I still can't tell what the little round item is. I need the wire colors or if there is a number on the harness? Also is it attached to anything up behind the frame that we can't see in the picture?

Ok I finally got a chance to open the canopy. It has a black wire and a pale yellow with a blue stripe on it. The thing has a small hydraulic line running to the top of the valve block located in the center of the machine. No number on the harness.

Page 255-256 wiring diagrams in your service manual. Item #14 Hydraulic oil charge pressure sensor.
This machine does have the BOSS option right? If the sensor was unplugged it should have had a service code show up.

No Boss option I believe. Its all analog gauges and idiot lights. I think its called bics?

With no BOSS it's still the charge pressure sensor but it just controls a idiot light and can't shut down the hydraulics. Without BOSS the page numbers for the wiring diagram are 252-253.
Try doing some of the troubleshooting in section 8 of the manual to see if its the valve solenoid or if it's seat/seat bar sensor. If the seat sensor is acting up it could be some debris under the seat.

I had a look at the sensor under the seat and it was full of crud and it looks like the seat was not moving the magnet down far enough when I sit in the seat. I added a washer in the assembly and it seems to be working much better now. Thanks for the help.
