I just bought a 853h that will move a little then stop, will move normal for 30 seconds at wot the stop. will move again just above idle then stop, then will move a little if the machine is shut off and restarted. I am hoping hydraulic filter but I cannot even find it, so any help would be appreciated until I can get a shop manual ordered.

By stop, do you mean the park brake is coming on? do you hear a clunk then the steering livers fight against you when you try and move them?

no just feels as though you loose all hydraulic drive as if the pumps quit working

also what it seems like to me is the pump is starving for fluid. the is no abnormal resistance on the stick when the machine stops moving. Is the just the 1 spin on hydraulic filter?

If memory serves, their should be just one spin-on hyd filter under the cab on the left. When you replace it, cut it open to see what's in it. It might be full of brass or aluminum cuttings from the pump. This is very bad.

There should be 2 spin on filters under the cab. There is a switch on each filter that 'should' light the red hydrostatic light in the dash if the filter is plugged. Start simple....have you checked that the belt that drives the pumps is tight?? Have you checked that the fluid level is correct???

I found the drive belt today and it is pretty well shreded and very loose. I tightened it up and about 90 % of the problem seems gone. I am going to get a new belt tomorow. also I found out my dealer is $30.00 cheaper for a shop manual than what ebay was.
