7775 neutral creep gone wild??

Our 7775 has been running good lately and just week our operator said the drive sticks felt awful 'touchy' and it took no movement at all to make the machine move forward or back. I got on it yesterday and he was right! I had trouble starting it because I had move a stick slightly and it wanted to move while starting, obviously not in neutral. What should I be looking fo when I lift the seat?? It obviously moves forward and backward OK as we unloaded a truck yesterday with no probems just being very careful of stick movement. From my manual it appears to be all mechanical linkage when adjusting neutral creep so would this be a linkage failure or should I be looking for something else?? Thanks for all the support, Tom in PA

It should be linkages, make sure each point from the levers to the pump are tight, this included the plates on the pump that control the back and forth movement. On bobcats they are alloy and can wollow out. They look tight, but are actually worn and loose.
Start there.

If your JD 7775 is the same as my NH LX665 (I think it is): There is a neutralizer plate attached to the travel linkages just below the seat. Raise the seat and you will see it move forward when either travel lever is moved from neutral. The engine side end of the neutralizer plate has a coil spring over a bolt that pulls it towards the engine. If the spring is damaged or the plate cannot slide freely, the controls may act as you are describing.

Yep, that's wahat is was. The bolt that holds the plate and spring on had backed out and the plate was just flopping around. At least we didn't lose any parts. We cleaned it up and put it back together and she runs like a champ. We did have a little 'creep' going on and that was most likely the bolt backing out. Thanks to all the guys who responded. Great forum. Tom in PA
