763G aux hydraulic problem

Hello Everyone...2001 763g series standard machine(foot controls only).
The other day i hooked my grapple up, pushed the button for aux hyd. and nothing...moved my right thumb switch back and forth,tried it again and it worked.
Same thing last night...once it works, you can shut the machine off and start again and it has worked fine.
Where do i begin to look and check,...right hand controler?...left panel?....just dont have an idea.
Any help apperciated.

I had that problem and found a wire in the control handle lever, had broken internally but left the insulation intact. It was a pain to find, but eventually I found the wire and the insulation pulled like taffy. Healthy wires don't do that.
The fun part is that the handles aren't serviceable, at least as far as I know. I couldn't see how to get at the switches without destroying the rubber handle.

Ok...will look at that...unfortunately for the last 3 days everything is working...you don't remember the color or # of the wire by chance?

Roll the top smooth part of the rubber handle down as this will expose two plastic tabs that engage in square holes of the metal tube. With two small screwdrivers lift the tabs while gently turning the whole switch section, then pull of, but first you'll need to unplug and depin the connectors under the cab as there's no connectors up top and the plugs won't fit through the tube. Take lots of pics of the pinout prior to disassembly as there's 8 or 10 wires and up to 4 plugs.
If you only want enough room to resolder/repair a wire you may get enough play by only unplugging under the cab as there's around 6" of loom before the connectors come in contact with the end of the tube.
