I just purchased a 1997 - 763 from a local contractor: Do you think this price is about average, good or bad. The 763 has weathered by setting outside for many years but only has 2500 actual hrs, runs good and has been used on the construction yard mainly to move and load other equipment. 763 looks alittle rough but has been well maintained and everything seems to work fine, price was $8500 cash.

I think that is a great price if everything works fine like you say. I got a 1993 743B for $8700 with 3600 hrs but in very good condition in the midwest. Have fun with your new machine!

That's a good price. I have the exact same machine, even bought it at 2500 hours. Mine was in very good condition, but payed $9100. You did good, if everything works well you can paint the rest pretty easy.

Man - I guess I got a hell of a deal then,. I got 2 763's - one running - with sloppy hydraulics for 2K (2100 hrs on the hobbs - shoddy maintanance - but good running motor with good compressions) I also got a second one with 2200 hours - that had just recieved 7K of maintanance - followed almost immediately with the guys adding the wrong antifreeze - and ignoring overheating - whicjh roasted the motor - I paid 3700 for that one. Swapped in the good running motor into the well maintaned machine - now I have a sweet running strong pulling machine - and a storage shed full of used parts - or awaiting a rebuilt engine! So overall I guess i got a pretty good deal! Carl Johansson

You did very well, you just need to pick up a cheap motor and slap it in then get enough money back to pay for the other machine you have now, plus a few years suply of fuel :)

Thats my plan. I have a local source of the 2203 engines high time - but they were used to run refrideration units - so no load on em. anyway i can pick up one of those for 800 bucks last I checked! Carl Johansson

That's a really nice snag. If it starts and runs good, doesn't matter if it was abandoned in the past. What matters is how it operates today. Sounds like you got a nice clean running machine there.

i just picked a backup machine yesterday..2001 763 w/ factory heat/air enclosd cab, suspension seat, backup alarm, 2500 hours for $10,000.00...in this area it was the best price by far, everything else i looked at was in the $13,000.00 range less heat/cab

Trying to break down what I actually paid for my 1991 642B with 2400 hours on it? I pd $12000 total and this is what I got. 1991 642B with 2400 hours , 18 foot Trailtech trailer w/hydraulic lift and removable side and front rails, 1 - 8 foot snow bucket, 1 - 1/2 yd smooth bucket, 1 - 1/3 yd smooth bucket, 1 - 1/3 yd tooth bucket, and a snow blade and a second set of tires aprox 50% wear. My machine has exactly 2415 hours on it and the old gent I bought it from supplied me with a detailed print out reciept from a local Bobcat dealer "Bobcat Powersports Ltd" Repairs he had done at 2291 hours which included 4 new tires installed, Vane pump with all gaskets, bushings, O-rings, hydraulic fluids, couplers, etc installed. Muffler, Air filter and new battery installed all for a total cost of $2717.56. So my machine has 126 hours on it since the repairs and she runs great. I'm guessing the machine cost would be $6000 or $6500? Am I close if you take away the value of all the other things included? :)
