763 Drive motor leaking re-kit cost ??

I read on some of the other post where some of you guys had rebuilt your hydraulic drive motor and or took it off and had a dealer do it. Does anyone remember about what the kit cost or what the dealer charged to put in a kit? I just traced down a leak on mine. From what I can tell it looks and feels like it is coming from the outer plate with the four bolts and the plate that is next to it, if that makes sense. Thanks for any info.

A seal kit will run you about $80 from memory. Is it the motor its self leaking, or is it where it mounts to the motor carrier on the chain case?
If you look at the motor, you will notice its in segments, is it one of these? they simply use O rings to seal these segments.
Is the motor round or square'ish?
The square shaped one you can get O rings and re-seal it for abourt $11, the other should have a new kit as one of the seals is like a star shape, it may be ok to put back in, but it may leak.

It is coming from the motor. After power washing everything, I slid my finger along the bottom side of it starting from the chain case until I found it. The motor is square shaped. The leak is coming from the seam between the section where all the hoses attach and the first plate. Do you think I could pull the outer section off and just put a new O-ring in? I have a manual for the motor but it dosen't show a torqe spec for the bolts? Any idea? Thanks again.

I believe you could get away with just installing new O rings. The last one i did i paid $11 in O rings for it from a seal shop, took in samples, they matched them.
I don't think i had torque specs, i think i was told to tighten them to the spec for the bolt size, i *think* it was about 50 ft lbs done up in diagonals. Ensure you put thread locker on the bolt threads though or you risk charge pressure oil traveling up the bolt threads and weep out around the head of the bolt. You don't need high strength stuff, just something to create a seal.
When oulling the motor down, watch the valve plate, if its out the motor will spin in the opposite direction. Try and keep it all lined up.
If you have a manual for the machine, look up the torque specs for the bolts, they are there.... somewhere... i'm just not sure where exactly.
