I am helping my father with his 753 that has a HP1 code. For some time the hydraulics would not engage when starting the unit but if he loosened the filter and retightened it would work fine. Now he has a HP1 code so I am looking for advise on troubleshooting. I am assuming a plugged filter would flag a HF code? There is no hydraulic power so we are wondering could it be the charge pressure sensor? thanks in advance for any help

please clarify 751 boss unit(as in led panel upper right ) as well as the puegot eng?
Thank you for the reply. I spoke with Dad tonight. The 753 has a Kubota engine, but we were unsure of the question regarding the 751 boss unit. The display was showing the HP1 and got the audible alarm to shut down. I ask him to confirm the pump was free which he spun and removed the single wire pressure sensor and reinstalled Once he started the unit the display changed to HP3 which I believe is wiring. Note it still did not have hydraulic pressure. Thanks again for your assistance, Dad appreciates the help troubleshooting.

Tazza, it would not allow me to reply to your post he has not replaced the filter, we thought if that was the problem the code would have been HF??

Good question, HP could be that it's detecting that the hydraulic pressure is low at the pump.
So, after your dad loosened the filter, it ran ok? no odd noises or coeds on the display?
Post of the time, the HP error is due to a broken or slipping main drive belt. The pump doesn't turn, so there is no hydraulic pressure. Yet this doesn't fit with the filter.

Thanks for your help. Dad got it running. From talking with him, I believe he corrected a loose wire and the pump drive belt may have been slipping part of the time. Thanks again for you help, it is much appreciated. New to the forum and we appreciate people taking time to share their knowledge. Scott

Glad it's fixed. The older BOSS systems were a bit of a pain to work on. Senders were expensive too.
