753 G series, no glow plug countdown

Having more electrical gremlins with my 753. Its a 2003. It just started refusing to do the glow plug countdown which is really needed as its -2F here. It may countdown for 1 second then go straight to the hours. Forgot to check for codes while I was at my parents where it sits. I tried swapping relays. Glow plugs still seem fine as I used a jumper wire for 20 seconds to get them to work, and it fired right up and ran good. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Honestly, I'd try another controller. Glow plugs are controlled by the controller.

by controller, do you mean the main ecm for the machine? are they interchangeable with other "G" series machines?

Could it be the temperature sender too? If it thinks the engine is warm, it will not glow as long?

A bad temp sensor could I guess, but I never seen it. Yes the controllers are pretty much interchangeable. There are two connector and four connector styled, but besides that, they will swap for testing. Don't put one programmed for a 800 series in anything but an 800 series. They will burn out the fuel shut off solenoid on a Kubota in about five minutes. I swap it and see what it does. I'll let you in on a bobcat mechanic secret. Step two solving problems like this is swap controller right after fuse/relay check. With everything and its uncle ran threw the controller, it is the easiest thing to check.
