took ken's advice on releasing the parking break, and that wasn't the problem. i've changed the fuel pump, pressure release valve for injectors, and it will start and run with the ball primed up and it will stay running if you keep priming the ball.. any ideas on what this could be? thanks, dennis

Is this a 751 with a pug engine? The lift pump was actually part of the injector pump.... Did you replace it? or just the hand primer?

no its a kubota engine. would that still be the same problem?

from a line from the fuel pump maybe?
tried your suggestion about putting fuel in container higher up still wont run,put another new fuel filter on and still same thing will only run while pumping the primer ball, how would i find out if the injector pump is bad any ideas would be helpful.thanks dennis

Silly question, but did you close the bleed screw right? if its not screwed in, it will not generate any pressure and will do this exact thing. When its not running, you should be able to pump the hand primer and it should be firm. It shouldn't keep squishing down.

yeah man the primer ball will get hard the bobcat will start and run while im priming the primer ball but when i stop the bobcat will just die its like its starving for fuel i put a new fuel pump, new fuel filter, injector release valve, new primer ball.its giving me and u a big ass headach lol

I wonder if the lift pump could be a dud?
They have one way valves, could be some crud stuck in it?
When you installed the temp fuel tank, did you run it from the pot of fuel, through the hand primer straight to the lift pump then to the injector pump? isolating the filter?
Just thinking there may be a restriction in the rubber line somewhere....
Its just really weird, you have everything to get it going, and it does when you give it extra fuel pressure. Has to be a restriction or bad fuel pump....

Yep if the line is not blocked then remove and test the lift pump, your a doing its job with the hand primer and all is ok then thats about all it can be.

got another new pump, still the same wont start
Well its got me stuffed, it starts and runs when the hand primer is squeezed, but won't run off its own lift pump pressure. There has to be a restriction somewhere....

do u think it could be injector pump,or is that even possible.is there any way to check injector pump besides taking it 2 the shop? man they want like 200.00 just 2 see if they r bad

I guess it is possible, but i'm not sure how.
I have tested injectors by removing the tube lines from the pump, hanging them out the door and cranking to see the spray pattern. As the engine is not firing with its lift pump, but works with the primer bulb, it sounds like it could be the pump.
What type of fuel shut off does it use? some had an external solenoid that pulls back a lever, others had one that was mounted inside a housing, i wonder if its not fully turning on? only allowing a smaller amount of fuel out?

man i just about 2 give up lol,i replaced all hoses and clamps so i dont know where else it could be restricking flow of fuel... i also ckecked the external solenoid it works.......anymore ideas

Have you disconnected the line section by section from the fuel tank up and made sure there is actual flow there? Did you do anything to the line in the tank? possible ice? is it cold where the machine is.? Never used it but some people like the 911 fuel treatment.

we by passed the tank with a jug of fuel....
