I know they were made between 1980 and 1990, i had one that had clark on it, it had to be early to mid 80's though. The first ones had a different pump setup....

I am looking at a 1980 it seams to work fine but it does have an oil leak, i am going to tilt the cage up saturday and take a look, is there a downside to the different pump setup thanks mark

Its the same physical pump, the port block is different is all. It has a hidden suction line filter.
No downside at all. All 743s are prone to getting a leak on a hose on the control block. Lift the cab, look for the one that loops up, they crack and leak with age.
