I've been shopping for a service manual for my 743 and one of the options is the CD version from Bobcat. Has anyone on the forum used the CD product from Bobcat? Are there after market versions of the CD manual? Also, for anyone who has used the product do you know if it is restricted to a specific PC, (i.e., can I share it between my desktop or laptop)? Thanks in advance for the advise.

I have used the cd version. Don't like it. It's .pdf format and not indexed, extremely hard to navigate. Schematics are grainy because they're scanned images. Later models' cd manuals are better. It's always more convenient to have a book open next to your job, IMO.
Even if you order the paper manual from Bobcat, they send the same file on their cd to a printer and it's a disappointment.
Best case is to get ahold of one of the older manuals floating around out there. Bobcat went paperless, which is the future, but didn't put much heart into the conversion for their older models.

I too rather paper over pc, finding things is easier as you simply flick pages. The price was almost the same as printed.
