743 bobcat fuel sensor replacement

How do you replace the sensor ? I bent and pulled the original out as to say the toe goes in first , what here goes in the tank first?

After looking, there are two different styles of fuel sending units depending on your serial number. So please check to see which one you need.

Most fuel sending units you just have to kind of look at and figure out how to slide them in. You will most likely have to angle and twist the top to get it to go in.

It is also normally a lot easier to install them when the fuel tank is empty so the float doesn’t bind things up.
 
This one worked just fine for me. You’ll have to adjust it properly outside the tank before install.

I ordered that # fuel sensor, my original has two leads on the top the new one has a center bolt. Mine has two black wires together and one wire on to its own.. my question is how should i wire it if i only have on post and the two sets of wires ,, one being a double black the other is single,

I put the one lead to the post on the sensor. and the doubled up black one , i went to ground. how ever now the gauge needle pegs to full? and i know theres only about three gallons of fuel.
 
I’m 2000 miles away from my 743. In every picture I see of the 3262, there are no wires, just a post to connect a wire to. Are you sure that you received the correct part?
 
If I remember correctly the 743 has a plastic fuel tank ,so there should be a wire going to the center post of the sending unit to the gauge and a wire from the base of the sending unit to good body ground.
 
Seems to me full ground = empty and no ground = full, if I remember right
