I have 742B bobcat and the Bucket and boom don't function. The foot levers move fine but nothing happens. I just purchased the machine and it had a blown engine. The guy I bought it from replaced the engine but couldn't get the bucket to lift or curl. He told me that the original owner did something so the machine would roll without it running. The machine moves forward and reverse fine. Any thoughts?

S0 today i flipped the cab back and loosened the pressure line leaving the hydraulic pump and the fluid leaked out but did not spray out. Im assuming that the hydraulic pump is defective. Anyone know where i can purchase the pump? I guess Bobcat doesn't support the old machines.

You might be surprised at what Bobcat still supports- I have a 742 and so far every part I have needed has been readily available. There are several sources for the pump on the web- a simple Google search using the phrase "742B hydraulic pump" will get you started. A complete pump will not be inexpensive.

I have reached out to every supplier that advertises the pump and no oner has one. I put a pressure tester on the pump and no pressure. I would like to make sure it is spinning. Can I put the shaft inside the port where pump is mounted and click the key to see if the shaft will turn? The pump acts like its not rotating.

There is no reason why you can't remove the hydraulic pump from the main drive pumps and see if the shaft spins.
