While using my 642b yesterday it was very sluggish, then completely quit. When trying to restart, the engine turned over fine but would not start. I pulled the #1 plug and checked for spark, there was none. Checked coil for spark with same results. I am thinking of replacing coil, points, condenser, cap and resistor (ceramic is cracked). The problem is that I don't have a Bobcat dealer anywhere near me and I would like to get the parts from NAPA or some other auto store. I would like to match the Mitsubishi 4G32 engine to a car that they can look up. I have tried a few cars with no success. I have used this forum in the past with great results and think that somebody out there has a correct answer to what car matches parts. Thank you in advance.

You didn't say which cars you tried but I seem to remember someone saying 84-85 Mitsubishi Colt.

try Mitsubishi truck for a cross reference
Look at the distributor and see if there's number stamped in the body. I have a Borg Warner industrial engine ignition parts book and might be able to get some part numbers. Also with the distributor number any good auto parts dealer should be able to look up the parts.

I believe OldMachinist to be correct, I got points from my local NAPA dealer by saying it was the dodge colt with the 1.6L Mitsubishi engine. Take your old points in, they can match it to an on-line image. New points fit perfectly and I think it was the 1985 colt but am not sure.
