I get one problem fixed (carb problem) Now another pops up. When I turn either right or left fast or sharp, the engine will bog down and die. Also happens when I put a load on the hydraulic system like pushing into a pile of dirt. It then takes a while to fet it started again. So where do I start?

Is it two speed or one? Also check aux hydro stuck on
The drive operation does use a lot of the engines HP, could you be trying to push it harder than it's able to do?
If the engine is worn, or the govenor isn't set just rite, you could have lower power available causing it to stall on you.

not getting enough fuel?

That engine has a fussy set of points. Not saying thats the issue here, but if they arent set at .025 it will not run efficiently and will struggle for power.

Well it looks like I have a few leads now on what to look at. I know I'm getting good fuel flow. I have gone though it from the tank pick up to the carb now. Before that, I would be running fine for about 5 - 10 min, then it seems like if I don't get off the peddles or steering, right away and have what seems like to much load on the hydraulics is when it will bog down and die. Unless get to the throttle and slow it down to just above idle. I think I will take a look at the points and see what they are at. As far as a one or two speed? what you mean? as far as I know I only have one speed. Where would I find the aux hydo?

Aux hyd valve is operated with the right hand stick, it moves left or right and should be centered for neutral. These things are the most powerful at the slowest ground speed , if you are going into a pile and running out of power back off on the sticks. It does sound like another timing / points issue though.

When it stalls does it feel like the hydro is loading up making it hard to start?

Just a thought. Since the problem might be with the points, how much does a leak in the exhaust manifold at the head gasket effect things? Of course the bolts are broke off, so now I have that problem to take care of also.

It sure does not help

Where is the leak again?
The leak is right at the gasket between the head and the manifold. I just reset the points, They we off (to close) I set them to .025. I didn't mess with the timing yet. Started right up and went out to the dirt pile, which is now frozen. I was able to push good and hard with a hefty load on the engine. It would stain like normal, even kind of forcing it. It never died. When to turn around and go back to the garage and it died. Took a while to start it, and kept heading back. about 30 seconds later it died, just going straight. did that about 3 times, and harder to start. Hmmmm. I really appreciate the help you guys give Thanks

Here is another thought. I was just reading the service manual. How much of the problem may be due to the hydraulic fluid being to cold? Its 29 degrees, the garage is not heated, but I do have a block heater plugged in. Manual says; Engine will not start or difficult to start. Cause, hydrostatic or hydraulic load on engine. Correction, center sticks and warm the oil on very cold days.

Always good to warm up but think you still have crap in the fuel system

Check the points again, those engines seem to have trouble with the points maintaning gap. If the points are ok and it dies when hot put a new condenser in , if that doesnt help it may be the coil. As soon as it dies put another spark plug on one of the wires and see if you still have spark. A bad coil will quit with heat also.

Agreed

Ill check the points again. I let it warm up about 5 min before I took it out. When it died the last time, I was just siting there thinking what next not touching anything when it died. Then guy I bought this from said he when though everything changing out points and everything. The points and condenser do look new. Still the same coil though. I think I will try that spark plug trick. Ill let you guys know it a little bit
