However if you also have two spanner holes in the face of the gland it is screwed in.must be more to the number than just 555, I could not find it at Messicks. If you have a outer ring off, which is called the gland nut, then the gland should slide out. It may not come easy due to o.d. seals on it though. Some have a snap ring holding the gland in and some have a wire accessed through two small holes in the tube but if you have a external, threaded nut the gland should just slide out with the shaft and piston.
I havent got the inter piece to move , is it ok to put in press to see if it will move? I know a friend had one built and he said they had to heat it before they got it apart oh yea Mike its a L555 DeluxeAfter you have the nut off, then the gland with the threads which is still in the barrel must be pushed, knocked, in towards the bottom of the barrel. There is a retaining ring about 1/4" in from the end of the barrel. The gland must go towards the bottom of the barrel so you can get the ring out. Don't push it in any more than necessary. Once the ring is out then you can pull the cylinder apart.
I would not put heat on it. You can distort the tube and then you are screwed. Do you have both lines off it. When I did mine it came right apartI havent got the inter piece to move , is it ok to put in press to see if it will move? I have the cylinder laying on the work bench , so it has a small round ring inside ? if I get that out the rest will just screw out out the cylinder, then just pull out the shaft rightI would not put heat on it. Once the ring is out everything just pulls out of the barrel. Nothing is screwed in.I have the cylinder laying on the work bench , so it has a small round ring inside ? if I get that out the rest will just screw out out the cylinder, then just pull out the shaft right
