well I just got this machine knowing it had a problem so it was inexpensive. I have used it for about 8 hours so far. if it sits overnight it is hard to start. I have to use ether and crank many times for it to start. I have changed all filters and oil. seems like the injection pump looses prime after sittting? what do you guys think it is a 2 cyl isuzu 2AA1 diesel. Secondly the left side seems weak in reverse,, forward it seems fine but is much much slower than the right in reverse. doesn't seem like a linkage problem since it engages on the stick the same time as the right side . If I try to spin using the left side in reverse it damn near stalls the motor. if I spin the opposite with the left side going forward it does fine any ideas Thanks

For the starting problem I 'd check the glow plugs to make sure they're working. On the left side drive it really sounds like a linkage problem. My left side was slower when I got it and I found the linkage was binding.

Ill try and check the linkage, that's what I originally though, but it almost stalls the motor and when I spin the other way it doesn't do it . thanks for the input. I may have overlooked something. I didn't see any glow plugs

I have a copy of the service manual for you Isuzu engine I uploaded it to here.

Pages 105-107 in the service manual tell you how to test the glow plugs. They should be located just below the injectors.
