430 Charging and Hydraulic issues

I bought an 06 430 in December, Im having a couple issues with it. One the hydraulic pressure bleeds off and wont hold the weight of the bucket. It bleeds off regardless if its on or off. Could this be a valve under the cab or possibly seals on the cylinders themselves? Second, charging the battery. I think thats kind of self explanatory but I would like to get a little direction to go to check and make sure its the alternator. One day it was over charging and at times doesnt charge at all.
