285 XE and 285 horsepower availability

So I've seen mixed information about the horsepower availability from the 285 and 285 XE. I've seen that the 285 XE only puts out 134 horsepower when a high flow attachment is in use then other sources saying this isn't true. Can anyone tell me what the facts are?

well I am not sure where your getting HP readings at based on flow rate, but HP ratings, come from RPM"S that the engine is being run at
flow rate will be more based on a combo of what the pumps make(maybe at certain RPMS too)
but, I doubt its all about MAX HP< they might make the same MAX flow rate at lower rpms, thus NOT in the MAX HP range!

and a 134 HP is rather huge in the skid steer CTL game

if you really want accurate answers on exact model, I;d suggest contacting cat, and asking there experts

but again, MAX HP< really has nothing to do with flow rates!
flow rates don't make HP ,. the engine itself makes the HP !
