Have a 2004 S300 with SJC controls and needed to replace the fuel sender unit. Got tired or the low fuel beeping every few minutes.

This was actually a lot simpler than I thought it was going to be with the correct size of socket, 1 5/8" in my case. Took longer to remove the dirt chunks from the top of the tank.
On the S300, the fuel sender unit can be accessed from the upper left side access panel of the machine. You can see it from the right side, with air con and hoses, couldn't fit my arm in there.
You are working somewhat blind and shoulder deep as the sendor is down in there a ways.
The electrical connection is straight forward to remove.
Was then able to slip the socket on and remove it. The issue I had was when pulling the old sender out, the cap and float connection came apart and the float/rod portion fell back into the fuel tank. Guess it will just have to stay in there.
Installing the new sender went without a hitch, and now I have a functioning fuel gauge.

Hope this helps someone else out.
