Yes, I agree. Your other post said that as well with the no glow
Plugs. It's funny how many people don't realize this engine series doesn't have glow plugs
Guess I'd do about everything you can at this stage of disassembly.
- have head and valves checked
- did head gasket show any leakage anywhere
- head or block warp -- low concern unless you know it got hot
- guess injectors will be new
- cylinder walls scuffs, scratches, cracks, pin holes?
- bore- no expert but I'm sure it could be checked some way
I'll look to see what I can find on the fuel system tomorrow. I'm wondering about the timing thing. I read something about the injection pump drive gear being tapered fit instead of keyed. So, it could slip. If not too difficult, it may be good idea to look at that and check timing while you're in there. If I find some info it'll be late tomorrow until I get it to you.
